Drip, Drip, Drip...
Greetings Casperfans..boy has the band had a time with the rain this month?!! Sheesh! It poured on us in Farmville a few weeks ago and it poured on us this past Sunday while trying to play for some friends? The equipment got a long needed bath I suppose..
Its that time of year when we get to these outdoor gigs and the weather does some crazy stuff.which is part of the risk of hiring a live band for an outdoor show. But I digress..
This month (today, in fact) marks the launch of the Official Casper Facebook page! Just search "Casperband Richmond" and it should pop up. This is a little less formal and business-like than the website with a chance for you good folks to comment and share too!
Our new CD is in press now as well as our new video, so lots of cool press for us hopefully soon. In the meantime, we have 3 public shows this month:
Fort Lee "The Hideaway" outdoor concert June 4th
Culpepper After Hours on June 17
Petersburg Old Towne Civic Center on June 24
All other shows are private events.
Sooo, hope you enjoy the Casper Media Blitz! We hope to see you cats on the road this month!
Cheers!

It has been said that musicians never die..they just go on to bigger gigs. We know that is the case with our friend Eddie Robinson who passed away in February after fighting illness on many fronts over many years. Eddie was a friend, stage manager, life coach and head cheerleader for Casper. He was positive even through his illness and loved to come see "his boys" whenever he could. Not many people know, but Eddie was famous! Ever heard the jingle/ song.."Who Hoo, hoo hoo hoo" in the Vonage commercial or the movie "Kill Bill" from Quentin Tarantino? Eddie wrote it way back when he was a sax man in the famous Rocketeens!
Eddie's passing was especially hard for Oscar and Donnie, who had known and loved him long before there was a Casper. The rest of us will always remember his smile and positive words, especially if we were having a bad night on stage. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his loving wife, Susan, and his children.
Goodbye Eddie..Here's one more for the Road, the Laughs, the Gigs and your smile..your fans miss you!
In band news, we are at Midway and Visions this month. All information is on the schedule. Thank you to Farmville, Bowling Green and Club Infuzion for our appearances there in February, we hope to see you again soon.
Love-
Casper

Sorry for the frosty humor kids. I personally LOVE snow, and I'm sure that those of you who don't have to shovel or push or blow it when it hits do too..But those who DO have it affect their jobs or homelife..hate me right about now..its OKAY, I'm not here to sign autographs.
All things being equal, Casper has had a couple of snow dates put off and we hope to get our makeup in this weekend. If not, then you can catch us on VALENTINES DAY! at Old Towne Civic Center in Petersburg. A glorious early evening performance that is sure to get you some lovin' from your prospective date..:)
We have a new public venue to conquer this month..Club Infuzion! It is in Richmond (across from Channel 6 on Broad) February 19th! New club, potential new fans, and a new place for us to hang!Hopefully, we will see many of our fans there to support us?! For our fans north and west of town, we have a public appearance in Bowling Green on the 20th and back to Big Dog's in Farmville on the 26th! All other shows are private. However, be sure to come 'Shake the Snow off of your boots" with us this month! See ya!
Ho Ho Ho!...(just kidding).

Ok. Got the gifts returned yet? Got angry with the complete lack of customer service at the return counter? "Gee..thank you for the job security sir??!" Ya think?!! But I digress..
New years greetings one and all! We would like to thank the Holiday Inn Koger Select for our 20th New Years Eve Show! It was a sellout, which honestly suprised us with the economy the way it is. New faces, a gorgeously decorated room and we managed to re-book for next year! To all who attended, Thank You!
Well, back out on the road we go next week. Here's a quick rundown of the public shows this month:

It would be nice, I tell ya. Get a look at some of the nashville cats on the road these days, their rigs cost as much as 2 of our houses!
Hope everyone is getting in the Christmas spirit and warming up the credit cards. Casper shops late..its just a fact. It would be cool to shop while we are on the road, but so often we arrive in a town in time enough to do the show and try to get home at a reasonable hour..
If you booked us for your Christmas party..Thank you!, you WILL have a good time!
Our Christmas tour kicks off this Friday in Roanoke. We have a bit of traveleing to fill out the month, and we have but one public appearance, the annual Christmas Party at Old Towne Civic Center in Petersburg on Dec 23. You may go to thier website for details and admission, but its usually a good party and usually benefits a local charity.
There was some talk about another public show this month, but as of this writing it hasn't materialized. We will send an alert out if it does. If you haven't made your New Years Eve plans yet, we are doing our 20th New Years appearance at the Holiday Inn Koger Select! Tickets are on sale now, don't wait! Lastly, this Christmas, let us pray for our troops overseas and for Peace on Earth..truly. A Very Merry Christmas to you all from your friends in...

Howdy Casperfans!
As some of you may have already noticed, we have a new band photo on the front page of the website. Photo shoots are always interesting. Heck, getting the band to bring the right outfit to the gig is a chore sometimes..ask Oscar! The photographer (the infamous Kitty B) is always pushing and prodding us to stand up straight, smile/don't smile, kneel, grab your leg, put it over your head..well..you get the idea. Ever try to smile for 30 minutes? (some of you are doing it right NOW!!) He he
Anyhoo, we have a couple of public shows lined up for the month and they are:
Vision's Lounge November 13th
Midway Lounge November 19th and 20th
Other shows are private and the public show info is up on the web. Make your plans to join Casper for some Christmas shows and our annual New Years Eve Show at the Holiday Inn Koger Center (tickets are on sale now!)
See ya on the road!
Cheeze!...I mean Cheers!

It would have meant more if the monthly blog were on the first of the month like it usually is..(i'm sure you all are crushed..)

Greetings Casperfans!
Entertainment can be funny. Its a job and a hobby. As any musician can tell you, it requires sacrifice of time, practice, relationships in general and long hours with people you grow to love and care about as family. On the road, you learn about each others lives, tell stories of gigs past and generally have fun. In this and other things in this life, situations change and people move on.
It is with this sad reality that we say goodbye to our brother Barry Taylor (trumpet/percussion),who spent many years with us and is a veteran of many of Richmonds great bands. Barry's departure is personal, but the love and successful wishes are mutual.
The band is taking a bit of a breather this month before we begin the gear-up for spring and summer. All shows are private. There are some public dates coming up, however, so stay tuned for these shows.
Cheers!

Sheesh! I wish that guy would stay sober when addressing the fans!
Hi everyone! Despite the lousy economy, we actually had a great turnout for our annual New years Eve show at the Holiday Inn! Thank you to the folks who have been there for many years!
The new year finds us busy initially, but slowing down a bit in the coming months. We will likely use the off time to learn or revamp material for the summer run, oh..and catch up on the "Honey Do" stuff we miss with the wives. We have public appearances at Visions Lounge on the 17th and the Midway on the 22 & 23 of this month. This may be all for the public shows for awhile, so don't miss out.
The spring and summer calendar is wide open for those in surrounding counties and states that book us on a regular basis..now is a good time to reserve us for your concert series, private function or corporate party.
In that light, we have added a new area on the front page of the website for promotional downloads. There is a band photo and our logos for you to promote your upcoming Casper appearance.
Our thoughts turn to our new president for the coming year in hopes that the economy, the job market and peace will once again grace this great country we live in. Our best to you the fans for the coming new year and we hope to see you out at a few shows!
Cheers!

And all thru the house, The band was getting nervous buying gifts for the spouse,
We're never at home, they say all the time, we're out playing rockstars and don't bring home a dime!
With Levie, Petey all snug in the truck, we were all headed out to make us some bucks.
When all of the sudden there arose such a clatter, Shaun put down his beer and said "Whassamaatah!"
It was Saint Oscar the leader, that jolly old elf, with news of some gigs to bring lots of wealth.
"We have private parties this month and a road trip or two, but our fans want to see us in the public view."
With a twinkle in his eye and a spin of his stick, he called out the shows..boy was he quick!
"To Visions on the 12th, and Old Towne on the 19th we go, laughing all the way ho, ho, ho."
With a wink in his eye and a touch of his chin, he said "New Years Eve at the Holiday Inn!"
"Now, On Donnie, On Howard, On Barry and Jim, On Jason, On Billy..or your paychecks will be slim!
And we heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight..QUIT SCREWIN' AROUND, DON'T FORGET THE SONG OR THE RIGHT OUTFIT, YOUR GIG BAGS, YOUR INSTRUMENTS, AND BE ON TIME FER CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!
To our friends and fans everywhere, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers! (Here Here!)

Greetings Casperfans!
I am always reminded of that classic song this time of year. A great version of this was by the late great Eva Cassidy.
And so the summer concert season draws to a close. It was a spectacular summer for the boys. We hit the road a bit, met new friends, played some new towns. One beautiful gig this past month was a trip up to the Homestead in Hot Springs, VA. The autumn leaves were GORGEOUS!! We also want to thank the Manchester Moose Lodge for the great Halloween party the other night. The costumes and dancing as always were fun! Hope to see y'all next year.
This month, we have a bit of slow-down compared to the previous months. A few private parties, maybe a public show, we aren't sure about that yet. We are starting to gear up for the Christmas run. The new Barry White medley is going well and Billy is tearing it up! We have a new band picture to post soon too once it gets out of editing.
So not alot of other things going on, but if you booked us this month..get ready for a good time! See ya then!
Btw, Happy Thanksgiving from your favorite turkeys (he he)
Cheers!
